Global Report on Sex Work Laws and Human Rights (2025)

We’re proud to launch the Global Report on Sex Work Laws and Human Rights (2025), a landmark piece of sex-worker-led legal research examining how laws shape safety, dignity, and rights across the world.

Co-created with SAHR’s 2024/2025 Gender Justice Fellow, Constance Mathe, the report draws on:

  • 63+ countries across six continents

  • 40+ interviews with sex worker–led organisations and allied experts

  • Global case studies from South Africa, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, and New Zealand

Across diverse regions, punitive laws fuel violence, invisibility, and exclusion, while rights-based approaches enhance safety, agency, and access to justice.

This report is more than research! It is a strategic tool for litigation, policy reform, and global feminist organising… A testament to what becomes possible when sex workers lead the narrative!
